Building a Stronger Community
Since taking office, we’ve worked hard to bring our neighbors together and to create opportunities for every resident to feel connected. From Juneteenth and July 4th celebrations to National Night Out, from Black History Month programs to our community Great Chili Cook-Off, Aldan is a place where people gather, share, and celebrate. We’ve also revived key borough commissions and boards, ensuring more residents have a voice in shaping the future of our community.
Open & Transparent Government
We believe government works best when it is open and accessible to everyone. That’s why we now livestream and record Borough Council meetings, making it easier for residents to stay informed and involved. In 2024, we also launched a borough alert system so that residents can receive text and email updates on emergencies, safety alerts, and community updates. These steps ensure that Aldan’s government is transparent, modern, and responsive.
Well-Funded Public Safety
Keeping Aldan safe will always be our top priority. We expanded our police department from four to eight FOP-enrolled, full-time officers, hired a respected new chief after a careful selection process, and aligned officer schedules with other Delaware County departments to ensure strong coverage. We’ve invested in training, staffing, and equipment to keep our residents safe and to provide stability in a time when other towns have struggled to maintain their police forces.
Investing In Our Future
For over a decade, Aldan held the line on property taxes. In 2024, we made a modest adjustment — a net 2% increase in property taxes and fees and a 1% earned income tax — to fund critical improvements like the borough building expansion, expanded services, and continued investment in public safety. These responsible investments ensure that Aldan has the infrastructure, the facilities, and the resources to thrive for years to come. We are committed to making smart, forward-looking decisions that keep Aldan strong and financially stable.
